I am assuming then I would just run the IMG file from EasyBoot with a "run ghost83.img" menu command?
#Ghost 8.3 32 bit#
I would like to try this method with the Dell 32 bit diagnostics as well. I had tried this once before but ran into problems making IMG files not in standard sizes with these and WinImage.Ĭan you provide me with a quick "how to" to create this. I understand you created this IMG using the tools in Easy Boot. So instead of trying to figure out why that is not working. Your ISO and my ISO both fail with the following systems.īUT, your IMG version seems to be working on all of the systems. Your ISO and my ISO both work with the following systems: In addition to that it seems I may have used an older version of my ISO for some of my testing that was using the old problematic BIF files.Īfter retesting every system with both of our ISO files using the BIF method, here is what I found out.

I took a short cut and assumed since my testing had failed on all of the systems I had tried that it was not going to work on any of them. Thanks again for your ultra-fast responses!įirst off I have to apologize. Please check your PM for a bootable ISO we tested with. Hello EvilBetty, ISOLINUX works on our Dell Latitude D610 and Dell GX280 computers.
#Ghost 8.3 how to#
Not really sure how to proceed at this point.Īny further advise you, or any other helpful party may have would be greatly apprecated! Google resulted in the following thread(s) when looking for other persons have this problem. Google resulted in the following thread that made me susspect the ISOLINUX version.īut after updating your process using the new ISOLINUX.CSM and the new MEMDISK module, it still freeses with either a blank screen or a new message of: Others freeze imediately after the ISOLINUX version is shown with some "DL" code.

None of them will boot the ISOLINUX sessions, but freeze at a different points.
#Ghost 8.3 Pc#
Unfortunately the CD's did not work on any PC I have in house (12 Dell models from GX-110's through GX-620's desktops, and laptops from C600 - D610). Both Dell 32 Bit Diagnostics and the Ghost Boot CD, boot correctly. This method works great in my VMWare / Virtual PC session. Following your instructions I used the BIF files instead of the ISO files. Thanks again, that is definately a step closer for me in the right direction. You can use memdisk to load the BIF file: f=1 t=349 Is there some other method I can use to add these ISO files to an EasyBoot disk? You state that UltraIso will not support this type of BIF directly. PS: The boot image file of both GhostCD.ISO and delldiag1265.iso are HardDisk Image, EasyBoot does not support them directly. The bug with UltraISO has been fixed now, please re-download UltraISO from. Obviously something has gone wrong since the whole ISO file was only 25MB.

It took almost 4 minutes, and what I was left with was a 1.96BG ghostcd.bif file. Using UltraISO, I extracted these files to the EasyBoot folder, then proceeded to save the Boot Information File. The CD contains two files, a BOOTCAT.BIN, and an OSBOOT.IMG. Now I want to move this CD to my Easy Boot disk, but am running into problems. The new Ghost Boot Wizard in Ghost 8.3 features new options to create a Ghost Boot ISO file with a universal packet driver, and I am happyt to report it works great! (as long as the machine suppots network PXE boot).
